Typical automation or KBE (knowledge based engineering) tools employ a master model approach. While this was a big step forward in making assemblies parametric a few years ago, it is becoming outdated quickly. Each master model is encumbered by the complete information of every possible design alternative. They're slow and require extensive programming.

power2 is a generative modeling approach. Dimension values are consequences of calculations involving performances and capacities. Orientation rules establish mate constraints. The engineering model is created and evaluated, and then traversed to automatically generate a CAD model in SolidWorks using the same process that a designer would use manually. The big advantage - it's easy to use and it works!
